DJI’s latest revision is just that, a revision and not a revolution. They’ve fine tuned some things from the RS4 that have been needed for a while. With a 65 watt charger the BG33 battery can be filled in an hour, and we also include a larger BG70 battery handle just in case. The “briefcase handle” that allows the gimbal to be held with its length parallel to the floor now has controls built into the end of it. Like its big brother the Ronin 2 it now has teflon coated sliding surfaces for the arms making adjustments easier, and all three axis’s and the camera plate have knobs for fine adjustments. Like the RS4 you can physically detach the camera plate to flip from a landscape to a portrait orientation on your camera in seconds. With the table tripod/handle, the 3 legs are now geared together so if you fold/unfold one leg the other two follow suit. The arms lock and unlock automatically with power. Small improvements, but DJI is always iterating. Probably the biggest new feature is the magnetically attachable Active Tracking module, which is a small clip-on camera with Artificial Intelligence. The camera’s view shows up on the gimbal’s OLED touchscreen and provides intelligent framing and tracking via a single tap. Tracking features include up to a 32.8′ range, both gimbal and hand gesture control, and orbit, POV/selfie, and backwards tracking modes. This gimbal integrates perfectly with our DJI SDR Transmitters.
