Need that reading lamp to be a different colour temperature? Need that table lamp in your living room set to not flicker while shooting at up to 1000 frames per second? This is the light that lets you do it. It simply screws into a standard E26/27 socket to replace a normal incandescent bulb. The socket can power it directly or it can charge-up its internal battery (the battery is good for about an hour of run time if you have no power). It’s an RGB light so in addition to posing as a “normal” bulb, it can be any colour of the rainbow. It has on-bulb controls but it also can be controlled wirelessly using Aputure’s app. When it is AC powered, it will turn on when it detects power so an actor can simply turn on the practical lamp as usual with no special training.
We are supply a 16 foot cord with each unit, and the cord has an inline on/off switch. At a practical level this lets you charge the internal battery, but it can also be used to hang the light from above in a scene. The cord’s socket has a brass retaining ring to secure a lantern around the light (not included). We are also including a non-powered rubber socket with a ⅝” stud on it so you can use a C-stand to position the light in any orientation while using its internal battery.
