The camera starts with a Super 35mm sized sensor, and it has built-in neutral density filters to instantly adapt to changing light levels. It has a high resolution OLED viewfinder with an adjustable diopter, and a fold out 5″ LCD touchscreen for viewing your footage and navigating the easy to understand menu system.
Blackmagic’s forté has always been in Post Production, and their experience in that field really translates over to the capabilities of this camera. You can natively shoot in the various flavours of Apple’s ProRes or AVID’s DNx codecs, but the real innovation for a camera in this price class is the inclusion of their RAW codec.
