In it’s most basic form, this is a 4K Distribution Amplifier. It will take one SDI input up to 4096×2160 resolution (4K/UHD) with 59.94 progressive frames, and clone it either to its four 12G capable SDI outputs or single HDMI output. Or it will take a 4K/UHD HDMI signal, and turn it into four SDI outputs. Simple and necessary, but the device will do so much more!
It has a resolution and frame rate convertor built into it as well. So it can take your input signal (either HDMI or SDI) and not only clone it, it can change it to any of 3249 possible other standards. Many times a device like this operates using DIP switches. This unit is much easier with a built in screen and menu system. So, got a 3840 x 2160 (UHD) signal at 29.97 frames per second that you need as a 1280 x 720 24p SDI signal split four ways? This device can do that. It can also take the HDMI output from computers, and convert it into an SDI signal. Not something you need every day, but when you do need it, you REALLY need it!
