Decimator makes great conversion boxes, and these ones have a couple of neat features beyond the norm. One is that they are bi-directional. Stay with me now: if you supply an HD-SDI input, the HDMI and HD-SDI outputs are both active. If you supply an HDMI input, the HD-SDI and HDMI outputs are active. If you supply both an HD-SDI and HDMI input, their corresponding converted outputs are active: HDMI out for the HD-SDI input, HD-SDI out for the HDMI input. Got it? The other feature that is really nice is that the device is powered by a standard micro-USB input. Many times you run the professional standard of HD-SDI out to a consumer LCD TV, and need to convert it to HDMI. Fine. But many TVs Today have USB ports on them. You can use one of those ports to power the device, negating the need for a second AC plug. Convenient.
