Portable Power Station is really just another way of saying this is a big battery. For certain situations it is a viable alternative to a gas powered generator. The battery is 2016 watt hours in size, and you can access that power through a variety of outlets. There are six AC outlets providing an amalgamated maximum of 2400 watts of power at any one time (5000 watts surge). If you are recording audio on set, be aware that when you are doing heavy draw, the integrated fans turn on to keep it cool. There are four USB-A outputs, two of which can provide 12 watts and two 18 watts. There are also two USB-C ports that can output 100 watts each. There is a car cigarette lighter output, as well as two DC5521 ports, each sending out 38 watts.
A colour display lets you know all the information about state of charge and power usage, and there is a smart phone app that can control the unit. Using the app, you can control how quickly the battery recharges from an AC outlet. Fast charging generates heat and turns the fans on, slow charging will extend the life of the unit. We’ve done a test and run one of our Aputure 1200d LED lights for up to 70 minutes on this unit, it’s a great alternative if you need moderately big power but the noise and fumes of a generator is unacceptable.
Like all our generators, there is no break on rental days for extended periods.
