The original and still one of the best shoulder rigs for cameras with an ARRI dovetail base. The key word here is adjustability: the arms can be long or short and moved side-to-side, the handles and arms can independently adjust their tilt, and the camera has room to slide forward and back for centring the weight over your body. Nobody’s shoulder is at an exact 90º to their noggin, so the Mantis even lets the dovetail plate assembly tilt so your camera is level even if your shoulder has a slope. The cloth covered shoulder pad is removable and has the right amount of “stiction” to stay in place while still allowing movement.
