Ring lights are unique in that since they surround the camera lens, the light is evenly offset so that one side cancels the shadows from the other side. This makes for an interesting effect, where the subject almost glows and there are no shadows. It also creates a circle reflection in a person’s eye, another unique by-product. This unit can mount directly to a light stand, or it can mount to a large camera using rods as if it were a matte box, or if you have a smaller mirrorless camera you can use an included base to mount it within the 12″ inner circle. It comes with a Dtap cable to power it off a large camera’s battery, or it can AC power, or you can use two included NP-F style batteries to power it. There are molded in handles to carry the light if you have a mirrorless camera within it, and the light itself is bi-colour and dimmable.
