Our newest follow focus, this second generation builds on the success of the first with a few refinements. The display in the hand unit is bigger and brighter and can display and control camera settings on compatible cameras. Tilta have made the hand unit ambidextrous: you can move the focus wheel from one side to the other. New to this generation is an electronic marking disc with a display that can indicate depth of field for a given distance and iris setting, or the kit includes traditional marking discs. We are including a clip-on monitor mount that then attaches to a light stand. This lets you mount your focus pulling monitor on top of the unit, and then support both of them with a light stand. The hand unit comes with two Sony NP-550 style batteries and a dual charger.
We are only including a focus motor in the kit, but the hand unit can control up to 4 channels and is backward compatible with first generation motors and motors from the Nano. The hand unit can also control DJI focus motors when connected through a compatible gimbal. The motor that does come with the unit is also a new design with quicker response, greater torque and smoother more accurate movement. The motor’s display can be disabled if it’s distracting, and rather than using inserts it comes with separate 15mm and 19mm rod mounts. As with the previous Nucleus, the wireless receiver it built into the motor and it is powered by your camera using a Dtap cable.
