On a backlight setting of 3, this is a very good 7″ monitor with loop through HDMI and HD-SDI inputs. Crank the brightness up to its highest setting of 10 though, and the screen is so bright that you can see it in direct sunlight outside. For even better daylight viewing, a sunshade easily fastens to its protective cage. You can attach it to your camera with either a short locking arm or a swivel, and a quick release mechanism lets you easily detach it. It has a native FP battery slot which can be swapped for a Vmount, but it’s really intended to run off a Dtap connection or with its AC adaptor. A small protected joystick on the front lets you navigate its easy to understand menu system, where you can call up a number of onscreen exposure and focus controls. LUTS can be loaded in via the SD card slot on the side, and you can program in 8 different custom presets.
