This is an add-on for the Sony FS7 and FS7 MKII that enables a number of extra capabilities. Primarily it allows the use of V-mount batteries, and we included two with a charger for the day rate (3 batteries if you rent it with our FS7). It attaches very simply to a multi-pin connecter on the camera using thumb screws. It then allows:
-the use of V-mount batteries to power the camera and accessories
-it has a hirose power output, Timecode & Genlock in and out, as well as a RAW output
-a 4pin XLR 12v power input
It also has circuitry inside that allows the recording of Apple’s ProRes codec to the camera’s onboard XQD memory cards. The circuitry only works for HD recordings and not for 4K.
