Our Bolt 500 XT kits let you do wireless transmission of your camera’s HD output back to a monitor. The Transmitter can power off of your camera battery if it has a Dtap output, or it can power off of an NP-L style battery that slides right onto the Transmitter’s integrated battery dock. The Transmitter has an HDMI input, but it also has an SDI input that has a loop through. If you only have one SDI out on your camera, this lets you go into the transmitter and then loop out to an on-camera monitor if necessary. The Receiver has two matching SDI outputs, and one HDMI output. The nice thing about the Bolt system is that it will cross-convert between the standards. In other words if your camera is a mirrorless body that only has an HDMI output, you can use that at the Transmitter and then the Bolt will convert that to SDI out at the Receiver end. These are zero-delay wireless units. Many newer wireless systems use a “WiFi” chipset that may add a few frames of delay between when the camera sees an event and you see a representation of that event on your wireless monitor. If things are moving fast and you are trying to accurately pull focus off that monitor, even those few frames of delay can really be discombobulating and make you not able to hit your mark and keep things sharp. The delay on these Bolt units is under a frame and imperceptible to the viewer.
We include everything you need with these kits: two each of SDI cables, HDMI cables and Dtap cables, all with a spare. There are two choices for antennas (with a spare) and various mounting options, including something to allow you to mount the Receiver to a light stand to get it up in the air to access clearer signals.
