While recently superseded by Tilta’s Nucleus Nano Mark 2, this is still a very viable and economical follow focus system, able to do things that some other systems can’t at any price. Unlike traditional FIZ units, there is no receiver/power box. Each lens motor has a wireless transceiver built into it. A Dtap cable feeds power from your camera battery into the first motor, and then a jumper cable passes that power on to the second motor. The traditional-style main hand unit has a joystick to control Zoom, and a wooden Focus wheel that feels nice in your hand for making smooth pulls.
Where this system differs from some others is the inclusion of two additional Zoom and Focus handles. Each of these handles can be mounted to any camera system that has ARRI rosettes, or to any gimbal cage or tripod pan arm that has 25mm or 30mm tubes. These handles allow you to one-man-band a shoot while still retaining manual control of shooting functions. You can support and point the camera with the hand grips while using their integrated thumbwheel and joystick to manipulate Focus and Zoom without ever touching the lens. Cool! We recently upgraded the eight 18650 batteries that come with the package with higher amperage cells for longer run times.
