This is the next generation of Tilta’s popular wireless FIZ unit: Focus / Iris / Zoom. The Focus hand unit has a rechargeable battery which powers its internal transceiver as well as the system computer. The computer menus are accessed via the OLED touchscreen within the focus wheel. Electrical contacts on the back of the focus wheel’s NATO mount allow it to join up with other compatible products such as DJI’s RS3 gimbal, or the included Zoom / Iris handle. Unique to this unit is a small fourth motor which interfaces with our Tilta Mirage matte box (extra). The Mirage accepts circular filters such as a Polarizer or a Variable Neutral Density whose effect can be varied by physically rotating the actual filter. The small motor mounts to the matte box and then a fourth channel of wireless can be used to remotely control the filter’s variability. Data as well as power for the motors is distributed using USB-C connections, and we include USB-C Run/Stop cables in the various industry standards. Check with Tilta, but if your camera has a USB interface, there’s a chance the Nano ll can control some aspects of your camera as well. For instance on our Sony A7slll, not only will a USB-C connection actually power the camera, it also allows you to wirelessly control functions such as Shutter, ISO and the internal aperture of Sony lenses that don’t have gearing for an external Iris motor.
If you have a large camera, the kit comes with a Dtap to USB-C cable to make the initial connection to the first motor, and the power is then “daisy chained” via USB-C jumpers to the other motors. If you have a small camera, we include two 10,000 mAh battery packs with up to 20 watts of output. We also include a 65 watt charger with three USB-C outputs so you can recharge a battery pack plus the two hand units, all at the same time. We include various mounting options for the battery packs and rod mounts/rods that may work with your camera, but it’s best if you have your own system for 15mm rods before renting the kit. The kit comes with a number of USB-C cables.
