About
Fast. Crazy fast. Almost “Barry Lyndon” Kubrick fast! Micro Four Thirds sensors are one quarter the size of a Full Frame sensor. This means they have less surface area to gather light (it also means focal length conversions are easy, this is a 50mm lens compared to Full Frame). So how to compensate for being physically limited in your low light capabilities? By using lenses that open up much wider to let in more light. There’s not a lot on the market to compare to this prime in that regard.
Build quality is the second thing that sets this lens apart. This is an “old school” lens: constructed of metal, with the oiled smoothness that only precisely engineered tolerances provide. It’s a solid nugget in your hand, but be aware this lens is strictly manual focus and aperture, with no electronics.
