A field audio recorder with a lot of capability in a very small package. The basics? It has eight combination XLR / TRS audio inputs for Mic or Line level signals. Those 8 inputs plus the 2 channel stereo mix track (10 tracks total) are recorded as either mono or polywave files onto SDXC cards. If live mixing the 8 tracks is daunting, you can concentrate on capturing the 8 ISO tracks and have the auto-mix feature take care of the Left and Right outputs. Those files can be either 24bit, or 32bit float files with super-wide dynamic range, allowing for great level flexibility in Post. There are two memory cards, which allows you to record different formats to each card, or the same files with redundancy. The recorder has a precision clock chip and has timecode input/output over BNC. The 2.4″ touchscreen lets you control its functions easily, or Zoom makes a phone/iPad app if you have beefy fingers. The recorder has two TA3 outputs (we include full-size XLR adaptors), a 3.5mm out for mirrorless-style cameras, or it can act as an 8-input / 4-output USB computer interface that supports that 32-bit float resolution. We are packaging the recorder with 2 x 98wH batteries and a battery distribution unit to power any wireless mic receivers you pair with it.
