We have our Nanlite Pavotube and Astera Titan kits, but they both contain tubes that are four feet long. These Amaran units are only two feet long, and come as individual units rather than in a kit. Amaran has designed them in a unique way. While other tubes have an internal battery built-in, the battery/handle for these units bayonet mounts securely to one end of the actual LED portion and runs it at full output for about 2 hours. But, if you had weight concerns and you wanted to operate just the tube itself off of the included AC adaptor, you can do that. Another unique element for the T2c are the mounting options. A NATO rail runs along most of the length of the unit, and there are also well spaced ⅜” screw holes down it’s length and on the end of the battery. We include a “no-twist” ⅝” light stud that lets you easily position the unit with a C-stand or any number of other lighting implements. Also included is a circular eye bolt for hanging the unit.
In terms of its operation, it’s roughly the equivalent of most of the tubes on the market with colour temperature and Hue/Saturation/Intensity modes plus built-in effects. You can use the menu screen and click wheel on the fixture itself, or you can download Amaran’s Sidus Link phone app and remote control it that way.
The units rent individually for $50/day, but if you take all four we will make a package price of $150/day.
